Shades of the magnificent Temple of tooth relic, Kandy Sri Lanka

Temple of tooth relic otherwise popularly known as the "Sri Dalada Maligawa " is undoubtedly one of the most two sacred sites worshiped by Buddhists in Sri Lanka along with " Jaya siri maha bodhi tree - sacred Bodhi tree. This colorful historic site is situated in the hill country city Kandy at the midst of the Central province of Sri Lanka which is a paradise of enchanting nature. This temple houses to the relic tooth of Gauthama Budhdha & has been worshiped by Buddhists all around the world since many a centuries. This temple is a huge site built by the ancient kings of Sri Lanka & a must visit who would like to explore Sri Lanka, it's beauty & culture. According to the legend Lord Buddha's relic tooth was brought to Sri Lanka from India by princess Hemamali & her husband a many centuries ago & has been kept at various places throughout the island & current home for the most sacred tooth relic was built by King Vimaladharmasuriya. Since then many variations has been added to the original temple though the tradition is kept same & everything about this site is elegant , charming yet magnificent.
